Good first game for Mel and the team. Won 67-37, ended the game on a 58 to 19 run. Mel had 19 and 11 and a couple blocks. Did a really good job defensive rebounding. Can definitely get better. Missed a couple shots he normally makes and missed some free thows. Was nervous in the first half.

Tomorrow's game should be much more difficult. They have a couple D1 bigs.

Thanks TM. Sounds like a nice start for Mel. Is there a local newspaper that covers the team?

Not really the papers cover the public school teams, which stink. If anything makes the papers I will post it here.

A bit of a disappointing night last night for the Lions and Mel. Lost 68-63 to Tilton School. Mel had 19 and 13. Highlights were a beautiful follow dunk and fericous game on both glasses against a college level front line. However Mel left a ton of points off the board, struggled from the free throw line and missed a couple dunks.

Get back at it on Wednesday. Know this game will be further motivational.

You had mentioned a game in NYC this season.

Any info on when and where that game is?

Burdine's Reading team lost their best player who transferred to another school. Looks like the ball will be in Burdine's hands ala Ryan Thompson.

TM - how did your game go yesterday. Any weather impact? Your schedule shows a game at Lawrence - is that Lawrence HS in Lawrence, MA?

Not a ton to report we won 68-20. Mel had 7 points in limited minutes. Highlight was a monster hammer on some poor kid.

Lawrence is Lawrence Academy in Groton,MA. Very good team, 2 D1 guards. Game is next Wednesday.

We play this Saturday versus NMH, a Class A team with about 8 D1 players, will be a great test.

Very nice game for Trenity and add in 3 assists. 8-19 from the field isn't bad and don't look now but he just might be a decent FT shooter (9-12 on the night). 0-4 from three point range isn't so great....didn't Fran say in some interview that he is a good 3 pt shooter? It would be great to add a perimeter threat next year.

Yes, Burdine can shoot the ball well.

His team won the title of that opening tournament yesterday - they weren't the favorite as they lost their best player to transfer and they're young. Burdine got in early foul trouble and they got bailed out by a kid on the bench - a sophomore? - who went off. 10 and 12 for Burdine.

I wonder how Basabe did in St. Mark's loss to NMH.

He did well. 19 points and double digit rebounds. Missed some jumpers but scored a ton at the rim and got the better of the match up with Majok Majok, who is getting some high major interest.

Next game Wednesday and then down to New York. If anyone will be at the tournament in the city and coming to the tourney PM me so you can say hi.

You mean he is getting some "high MAJOK interest."

As always, thanks for the update.

Another good game for Burdine (despite being a little bit of a "chucker"). He led his Reading team to a 61-60 victory going for 25 and 15 (9-26 from the field; 2-6 from behind the arc; 4-4 from the line [2-2 with the game on the line with 7 seconds left]).
