Congrats to the Saints on clinching their third straight MAAC regular season championship!!! To officially lock up the #1 seed on February 8th is tremendous. Great game tonight from Eddie and Ryan.. Fairfield is solid they've played us the best of any team so far in the MAAC (Siena's only won both games by a combined 10 points). It isn't always pretty much the team found another way to get it done- what good teams do.
On to Niagara on Friday night.
Go Saints!!!

Good win tonight—Fairfield played smart and hard- and while the Saints played hard they were not particularly sharp- a lot of that may have been due to FF

Congrats on taking the #1 seed! Although not a pretty game.... A win is a win....- The Top teams win these games... Our D was weak at times and the offense wasn't too crisp either- We seemed to have our usual troubles at the line too- Have to give credit to the Stags though- They played tough- Needham will be a force in the league for years to come- Some tough games coming up in Buffalo his weekend....

Loved seeing Eddie have a great game tonight. I admit I sometimes fall into the trap myself in forgetting how good he really is. When Edwin is on, rested, and injury free he can play like the POY we know he can be. He showed all his skill sets tonight.
And speaking of POY...Needham is a stud. That guy is a man child at the point. Pencil him in for at least one POY before he's out of here in another 3 years. Not looking forward to seeing him again. Fairfield will be a force we'll have to contend with in coming years.

Needham is great. Not only should be the easy ROY choice but should make 2nd team all-MAAC. Fairfield is the team that I would be the most wary of potentially in the MAAC tournament should we meet them. They have solid big guys and a great guard in Needham. Yes he is a freshman but I remember two freshmen dominating the 2007 MAAC title game (Alex Franklin and Tyrone Lewis)
Anyway while you love to win every game by double digits they close games should get the team's full attention.

One of the uglier games I've seen Siena play this year, not much flow offensively, too many risks defensively. Hats off to Fairfield for creating the tempo they needed to keep it close and give themselves a chance late.
Ubiles is developing into a very good "go to" player late. Rossiter and Franklin had some issues with FF's height.
Needham is definitely ROY, thought he got away with a lot of push offs to get open without any called on him.
Personally, I think St Peters is the team most apt to cause problems in March, with FF probably the 2nd toughest matchup.

I mean this with all due respect, Needham is going to be a pain in the ass the next 3 years or so. That kid can play. Watching him and Moore go back and forth was fun, and I'm not talking about the play, you could see a little talk going as well..
I thought the officiating wasn't very good. They got a ticky-tack on Franklin early on, then a legit one after, but it put him on the bench for a good portion of the 1st half. The nonsense before the half with the clock, complete amateur hour down there. On top of the fact they let Cooley basically stand on the court, or past the coach's line for almost a 1/3 of the game.
How bout Rossiter's 3???

How bout Rossiter's 3??? Agree on the reffing, though I thought it was bad both ways. There was an awful lot of physical play to end up with 5 and 4 fouls respectively with about 2 minutes left.

I believe the Time Keeper is employed by Siena—whoever it is- should be replaced it could have cost us the game. Hard to believe not only did the time keeper miss it the 3 officials did also- they didn’t stop the clock till 9 sec had ticked off and it was Ubiles that alerted the refs that the clock wasn’t moving

I didn't look at how many assisits he had but you are correct he should have had 20. He was like a pitcher who gets no run support.

I thought the officiating was pretty god tonight. From my seat, I was able to see some of the replays on MSG and they got many of those calls that the fans questioned right. Needham was impressive- doesn't play or physically look like a freshman. Cooley, in his post game presser, indicated that he thought Siena was much deserving of a top 25 ranking. I felt we were out of rhythm tonight, to the credit of Fairfield. On defense we gave them too many open looks at 3's and we paid for it. Once again we won this game in the paint.

I would agree that FF/SPC are the two toughest match-ups for Siena. Hopefully they are seeded 2nd and 3rd for the tournament.
Standings up to date look like with remaining conference games -
Siena 14-0 (at Nia, at Can, at Rider, Marist) Iona 10-4 (Man, Loyola, at FF, at SPC) FF 9-5 (at Rider, at Man, Iona, Nia) SPC 9-5 (at Loyola, Rider, at Marist, Iona) Rider 7-7 (FF, at SPC, Siena, Can) Niagara 6-8 (Siena, Marist, at Man, at FF) Canisius 6-8 (Marist, Siena, at Loyola, at Rider) Loyola 5-9 (SPC, at Iona, Can, Manhattan) Manhattan 3-11 (at Iona, FF, Nia, at Loyola) Marist 1-13 (at Rider, at Manhattan, Iona, Nia)

Hey guys...caught some of the 2nd half of your game tonight when Butler was at commercials etc. Couldn't get a real good read on your team but there's still time. Congrats on your win and your clinch. Butler clinched at least a share of the HL reg. season title tonight, 4th in a row

If a team holds Siena under 70 they have a dam good chance at winning.
6-4 under 70

6-4 under 70 Might be true- but opponets better score themselves, Saints are 38-0 when holding opponents under 70 points
